Arriving at Havana airport, first stop was the money exchange bureau. At the beginning we were struggling with the two different currencies (one for locals, one for tourists).
Due to language issues Nikoletta soon started to feel socially isolated. I had to do all the talking, from asking for directions to translating the menus.
We were hosted by the greek orthodox community and stayed in a skete, roamed around different parts of the city, figured out how to take different local buses and taxi colectivos and started to realise how very different Cuba is from everything we have ever experienced.
