# 141 - Macramé bracelets

Months ago we learned how to make macramé bracelets. (Click here for the post: # 72 - Learning Macramé) Now it's time for part II of our plan: Selling them here in Australia. Setting up a little stand in Rundle Mall, we sold most of them in two days. "You pay what you want" said our sign and the amount for what people gave for a bracelet varied from 2 AUD to 20 AUD.

Let's look at the numbers: We didn't spent much for the materials, since we bought the threads at a market in Peru. We sold 47 bracelets (8 in Peru and 39 in Australia) and made about 125 €.

Was it worth the hustle? Well, first of all, it wasn't a hustle at all. We loved making them. At the side of the road while the other is hitching, in a truck while driving endless kilometres through the desert or in parks and squares. It is such a relaxing and rewarding work. It could have been very profitable to sell them in Australia if we had taken it seriously but we didn't. We just enjoy making them and we like to gift them to people we meet along the way.
