# 83 - San Pedro

With a crew of seven we went out for a special experience. After a little hike in the mountains we came to an ancient Inca ruin. There we had a traditional ceremony and talked about love and respect for others and nature, equality between men and women and our wishes and fears. After that we each drank a cup of San Pedro.

San Pedro is some sort of juice, that is extracted from a specific type of cactus. In Peru it’s been used for thousands of years. People drink it up to this day to get closer to their inner self or to connect with Pachamama (mother earth).

Panos and I felt the effect of San Pedro coming gradually and slowly over a span of many hours. The hike in the mountains and the picnic with different exotic fruits in the temples of the Incas were the perfect environment to relax and feel the medicine, as the Peruvians call it.

A campfire in the evening was a fitting end for that day.
