Woohoo - 15th of September!! Today was my birthday!! :-)
From San Cris we took a combi (a mini van colectivo taxi) and suffered for two and a half hours from curves and the fear of cliffs right next to the road. Arriving in the town of Ocosingo we took another colectivo and after twenty minutes there we were. At the Mayan pyramid complex Toniná. One of the highest in Mexico, built in around 300 A.D.
We spent three hours at the sight, making videos for our friends and family and climbing the pyramid, 260 steps all the way to the top. The precision with which everything was built was hugely impressive.
